Gran Resistencia residents receive digital tool to monitor El Niño flood risks
Provincial Deputy Rodolfo Schwartz, alongside a team of architects and engineers, has launched a digital platform designed to help residents of Gran Resistencia organize against potential flooding caused by the El Niño phenomenon. The interactive website allows families to view their specific risk levels on a map and coordinate with neighbors to report needs and defense status.
During the announcement, Schwartz criticized the provincial government for a lack of assistance to areas already affected by the rising Negro River, specifically mentioning neighborhoods such as Los Teros and Las Flores. He also introduced legislative project 2569/26, which seeks to compel the government to disseminate clear prevention and evacuation plans and to coordinate with an Inter-neighborhood Emergency Committee.
Schwartz noted that flooding exacerbates legal insecurity and the lack of property titles in more than 300 peripheral settlements. He further called for the activation of the Land and Territory Conflict Observatory, which was previously approved by the Chamber of Deputies.
