Granada receives Andalusian Parliament support for 2031 culture bid

The Parliament of Andalusia has officially endorsed Granada’s candidacy to become a European Capital of Culture in 2031. The institutional declaration received unanimous support from all political groups represented in the chamber, framing the bid as a shared project for the entire region of Andalusia rather than just a local initiative.

Granada Mayor Marifrán Carazo expressed gratitude for the bipartisan support, stating that the endorsement confirms the candidacy as a regional project intended to represent Andalusia’s diversity, talent, and cultural heritage on a European stage. The delegation accompanying the Mayor included representatives from the University of Granada and local provincial institutions.
