Grande ABC municipalities forecast R$19 bn revenue for 2027 and boost fiscal reporting

Six cities in Brazil's Grande ABC region – Santo André, Mauá, São Bernardo, Ribeirão Pires, Rio Grande da Serra and Diadema – have approved their 2027 draft budget guidelines (LDOs). Together they project R$18.9 billion in revenue, a 10.79% rise over 2026 and more than double the year‑over‑year inflation rate. Santo André expects R$5.6 bn, Mauá R$2.2 bn, São Bernardo R$7.7 bn and the other municipalities similar increases, with significant portions coming from municipal treasuries, state transfers and federal funds.

In the same period, Santo André recorded the largest jump in the Siconfi accounting and fiscal information quality ranking, climbing 2,539 places to 1,332nd and achieving scores above 96% in most categories. Mayor Gilvan Ferreira credited the improvement to stricter data management and transparency. Nearby cities also shifted in the ranking, with São Bernardo and Mauá maintaining high marks and São Caetano and Rio Grande da Serra slipping.

Both developments signal a push for stronger fiscal planning and greater public‑sector transparency in the region.
