Grande Vitória municipalities host free registration drives for new National Identity Card
Municipalities in the Grande Vitória region of Brazil are organizing free registration drives to facilitate the issuance of the new National Identity Card (CIN). These initiatives, held in partnership with the Scientific Police, allow citizens to obtain the document via a first-come, first-served system without the need for prior internet scheduling.
The new CIN gradually replaces the old RG and uses the CPF as the unique identification number nationwide. In Viana, recent drives resulted in over a thousand cards being issued. In Serra, services are provided through the 'Serra + Cidadã' itinerant event, while the City Council maintains a fixed post for scheduled appointments. To apply, citizens must present original or authenticated copies of their birth or marriage certificates and proof of CPF registration.
