Granja Tres Arroyos' Cresta Roja plant halted over unpaid wages

The Cresta Roja poultry plant in El Jagüel, Esteban Echeverría, operated by Wade SA of the Granja Tres Arroyos group, has been practically stopped since Monday. Workers say salaries are being paid in installments and that they are still owed part of previous months' wages. In protest they have blocked truck access, and only six chicken trucks moved in recent hours. Neither plant management nor union delegates have offered a clear timeline for resolving the dispute or resuming normal production.

The stoppage is part of a broader financial strain on Granja Tres Arroyos, which recently closed its “La China” facility in Concepción del Uruguay, Entre Ríos, putting around 950 jobs at risk. The company cited “constant union conflicts” for the closure. Cresta Roja had also received a preventive shutdown from the Matanza‑Riachuelo Basin Authority over foul odors. The company has not publicly explained the current paralysis or indicated when operations might restart.
