Granja Tres Arroyos faces $350 million debt crisis as workers receive provincial aid

Argentina’s largest poultry producer, Granja Tres Arroyos, is confronting a severe financial collapse. Creditors have filed numerous bankruptcy petitions and more than 4,200 cheques have been rejected, reflecting a debt load of roughly US$350 million. The company, controlled by the De Grazia family, is negotiating a restructuring plan that could cut up to 75% of its obligations, with a June 30 deadline before court actions may accelerate.

In response to the labor dispute linked to the crisis, the provincial government of Entre Ríos deployed a joint operation with the ministries of Government, Labour and Human Development and several unions. The initiative offers exceptional economic contributions and a differentiated energy tariff to affected workers and their families. “Por decisión del gobernador Rogelio Frigerio y del ministro de Gobierno y Trabajo, Manuel Troncoso, estamos acompañando a los trabajadores y a sus familias frente a las consecuencias de este conflicto,” said Labour Secretary Mariano Camoirano.
