Switzerland police investigate multiple fatal incidents

Swiss authorities are investigating multiple fatal incidents. In Graubünden, police discovered a deceased senior woman in a car in Schmitten during a missing person search. A 36-year-old German man was arrested in Valbella on suspicion of intentional homicide after investigators found the victim's belongings during a house search. The public prosecutor has opened a criminal investigation and is seeking detention for the suspect.

In Bern, a homicide and suspected suicide occurred in Lauperswil. Police discovered an 84-year-old man and his 49-year-old son with gunshot wounds. The son died in the hospital after being airlifted by Rega. Authorities believe the incident involved a homicide followed by a self-inflicted act. A firearm has been secured, and the Emmental-Oberaargau public prosecutor is leading the investigation.

Separately, Swiss police launched a prevention campaign titled ‘Mission Betrugsjagd’ to help citizens identify online marketplace fraud, such as phishing links and fake payment requests.
