Graviteo Urban Sports Festival to spotlight skateboarding and other urban sports in Barcelona

The Real Federación Española de Patinaje (RFEP) will host the Graviteo Urban Sports Festival at the Circuit de Barcelona‑Catalunya for three days. The programme mixes competitions in skateboarding, roller freestyle, scooter, speed skating and climbing with music, food and other urban‑culture activities.

RFEP President Carmelo Paniagua said urban sports are “more than a competition – it’s music, community, culture and health,” stressing the need to professionalise the discipline while preserving its street‑origin ethos. He highlighted Spain’s strong position in skateboarding, noting world park champion Egoitz Bijueska and top‑10 female skaters Julia Benedetti and Naia Laso as examples of the country’s elite talent.

The festival aims to connect younger audiences with a vibrant, inclusive sporting experience and to draw attention to the need for better training facilities for Spanish athletes.
