Graylark develops Raven AI to identify locations via indoor photos
Graylark has developed a tool called Raven AI that can identify specific properties using only visual clues from indoor or outdoor photographs. Unlike traditional methods that rely on GPS metadata or views from windows, Raven AI analyzes visual features such as the shape of wall tiles, room structures, surface colors, and even banal objects like a washer/dryer to match images against property databases.
The technology, which evolved from the company’s previous tool GeoSpy, includes a Short-Term Rental ID feature capable of searching millions of global rental listings. Law enforcement agencies are already utilizing the tool, for which founder Daniel Heinen has secured $10.7 million in funding.
