Grazia Deledda celebrated with exhibitions in Saronno and Viadana

Various Italian institutions are hosting exhibitions to commemorate the centenary of Grazia Deledda being awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.

In Saronno, the Liceo Legnani is hosting a dedicated exhibition from September 15 to 30, organized in collaboration with the Circolo Culturale Sardo APS ‘Grazia Deledda’. The event includes a student competition, with a concluding ceremony scheduled for September 26. The initiative aims to engage students and the community in exploring the life and works of the Sardinian author.

In Viadana, the MuVi museum is presenting ‘Le parole di Grazia,’ an exhibition running until December 20. The display features approximately forty works from the Civic Library’s ancient collection, arranged chronologically from her 1900 collection ‘Il nonno’ to the 1949 edition of ‘Canne al vento.’ The exhibition also highlights Deledda’s personal connection to the region through her marriage to Palmiro Madesani and includes her personal piano, which was donated to the city by the Deledda-Madesani family.
