Grazia Deledda: New collection of rare novellas released for Nobel centenary
To mark the centenary of Grazia Deledda receiving the Nobel Prize in Literature, new literary initiatives are honoring the Sardinian author. A new collection titled ‘La leggenda nera e altri racconti giovanili’ has been released, compiling sixteen rare novellas written between 1888 and 1892. These early works, many of which previously only appeared in period magazines, offer insight into the author’s formative years and include the story ‘Sangue sardo’.
Additionally, the Ethno’s Festival Letterario will host a dedicated event in Martis on October 10. The program features scholars and journalists discussing Deledda’s life and literary journey, alongside a reading of her works ranging from her Nobel-winning ‘Canne al vento’ to lesser-known fragments and letters. The event will include live music and readings by actress Michela Atzeni.
