Great Pyramid of Cholula marks 95 years of archaeological exploration
San Andrés Cholula has inaugurated a temporary exhibition commemorating 95 years of systematic archaeological explorations at the Great Pyramid of Cholula. The exhibition, titled “A 95 años del inicio de las exploraciones de la Gran Pirámide de Cholula. 1931 – 2026,” features both historical and contemporary records spanning from 1931 to 2026.
The event was led by Municipal President Lupita Cuautle in coordination with the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) and state authorities. The initiative aims to preserve the historical memory and cultural identity of the region. The exhibition includes various stages of research and different representations of the Great Pyramid, highlighting the contributions of archaeologists, anthropologists, historians, and local workers to the preservation of this heritage site.
