Great Wall Motor debuts H7 hybrid SUV in Europe
Great Wall Motor (GWM) has introduced the H7 hybrid SUV to the European market, showcasing its new Hi2 and Hi4 hybrid technologies. During the GWM Tech Day in Milan, the company highlighted its GuiYuan platform, a versatile architecture designed to support five different propulsion systems: gasoline, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, electric, and hydrogen.
The GuiYuan platform utilizes over 300 standardized hardware modules and more than 2,000 software functions, coordinated by the Coffee EEA 4.0 centralized electronic system which integrates artificial intelligence. This modular approach allows GWM to apply the same technical base to various vehicle types, including sedans and pickups, to reduce development costs and improve reliability.
The H7 Hybrid Hi2 model features a 1.5-liter turbo Miller cycle engine paired with a 130 kW electric motor and a 1.53 kWh lithium-ion battery. This configuration produces a combined output of 182 kW (247 CV) and 535 Nm of torque. The system utilizes a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) with two speeds to optimize efficiency across different driving conditions. Meanwhile, plug-in hybrid versions of the H7 can deliver up to 435 CV and a declared electric range of 129 km.
