Great Wall Motor expands global lineup with hybrid and electric SUVs
Great Wall Motor (GWM) is expanding its global automotive presence through new model launches and a multi-energy strategy. In China, the company has announced the launch of the Big Dog, a hybrid 4x4 SUV. The vehicle features a 1.5 turbo gasoline engine paired with electric motors, delivering a combined torque of 68.3 kgfm and a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of 6.6 seconds. It is equipped with 26 sensors for driver assistance and offers an estimated fuel consumption of up to 17.7 km/l.
In Europe, specifically targeting the Spanish market, GWM is shifting its strategy from a purely electric focus to a multi-energy approach including gasoline, hybrid, and electric models. The ORA 5 compact SUV serves as the flagship for this offensive, available in gasoline, self-charging hybrid (HEV), and fully electric (EV) versions. This move aims to establish a stronger foothold for the Chinese manufacturer in a competitive market currently seeing an influx of new brands.
