Great Wall Motor posts sales surge, launches Ora 5 EV in Europe
Great Wall Motor (GWM) reported July vehicle deliveries of 108,067 units, a 3.54% year‑on‑year increase, with domestic sales in China falling 27.23% to 46,052 units. The growth was driven entirely by overseas markets, where sales rose 50.93% to 62,015 vehicles, representing 57.39% of the month’s total and the second‑highest overseas share on record.
At the same time, GWM introduced the Ora 5, a compact electric SUV aimed at the European market. The Ora 5 is offered in three powertrains, with the electric version equipped with a 58.3 kWh LFP battery delivering up to 435 km (combined) and up to 600 km (urban) range. Fast DC charging reaches 80% in about 30 minutes, while AC charging (11 kW) takes roughly 6.6 hours. The model features V2L capability to power external devices, four driving modes, and a European‑styled interior using recyclable, antibacterial materials.
