Great Wall Motor launches ORA 5 SUV in New Zealand and Spain

Great Wall Motor (GWM) introduced its ORA 5 compact SUV in two new markets. In New Zealand the first 100‑unit shipment sold out before most buyers could test the vehicle, with about 90 % of a second 100‑unit batch already allocated. The ORA 5 is priced from NZ$36,990 (plus on‑road costs) and offers a 150 kW front‑mounted motor, 435 km WLTC range and a seven‑year unlimited‑kilometre warranty. GWM aims to sell roughly 100 units a month and plans a larger ORA 5 Touring model for early 2027, alongside a suite of upcoming electrified models.

In Spain the ORA 5 went on sale in May, advertised at €19,950 for the gasoline version and up to €38,135 for fully equipped trims. The model is offered with three powertrains – a 160 hp gasoline engine, a 223 hp plug‑in hybrid and a 204 hp fully electric version with 435 km WLTP range – all built on a multienergy platform and backed by a seven‑year or 150,000‑km warranty (eight‑year battery warranty). Standard equipment includes LED full‑beam headlights, 18‑inch alloy wheels, heated seats and a dual‑screen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. GWM plans to have a network of 50 Spanish dealerships by year‑end.
