Great Wall Motor rolls out new models in New Zealand, Australia and Spain
Great Wall Motor (GWM) announced a major product expansion across several markets. In New Zealand the company will launch eight new models over the next six months, spanning petrol, diesel, hybrid, plug‑in hybrid and electric powertrains, as part of a plan to become one of the country’s top‑five best‑selling brands by 2027.
In Australia GWM will double its model range, add the Wey luxury sub‑brand and introduce new diesel‑hybrid and V8 options, while also bringing the Haval H7 and the Ora 5 SUV to the market. The company now has full access to its global portfolio, allowing it to tailor products to local demand.
In Europe GWM began operations in Spain, opening a dedicated sales network and a logistics hub in the Netherlands. The first model, the Ora 5 compact SUV, is offered with gasoline, hybrid and fully electric versions at prices under €20 000 and a seven‑year warranty. GWM plans to reach more than 50 dealer outlets by the end of 2026 and will add four further models – the larger H7 SUV, the Tank 300 off‑road hybrid, the Poer P500 hybrid pickup and the premium Wey G9 – before the year ends. The broader European strategy targets at least ten new models in two years, aiming for a 3‑5 % market share by 2030 and considering local production.
