GWM launches Ora 5 electric SUV in Brazil, cuts Ora 03 hatch price

Great Wall Motors (GWM) unveiled the Ora 5, its first fully electric SUV for the Brazilian market, priced at R$ 159,000. The model delivers up to 204 hp, a claimed 435 km range on a full charge, fast‑charging capability and semi‑autonomous driving features, positioning it as a competitive compact EV SUV.

Following the launch, GWM reduced the price of its Ora 03 electric hatch from R$ 169,000 to R$ 149,000 to sit below the new Ora 5. The Ora 03, equipped with a 171 hp front‑motor, a 58 kWh battery and an official 315 km range, has recorded modest sales in Brazil, raising questions about its future amid stronger competition from rivals such as BYD and Geely.
