Great Wall Motors upgrades Ora Ballet Cat electric Beetle and highlights Ora 5 interior tech

Great Wall Motors (GWM) announced an updated version of its Ora Ballet Cat, a retro‑styled electric car that echoes the classic Volkswagen Beetle. The refreshed model now delivers 150 kW (204 hp) and a top speed of 180 km/h, up from 126 kW and 155 km/h. It retains its five‑door, 4.40‑metre length design and uses an LFP battery from SVOLT, though capacity and range were not disclosed. GWM hinted the vehicle may be renamed Ora 6 and could eventually reach European markets, with Spain and Italy identified as likely entry points.

In a separate overview, GWM detailed the interior of its Ora 5 compact electric sedan. The cabin features a 14.6‑inch central touchscreen and a 10.25‑inch digital instrument cluster running the Coffee OS infotainment system, with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and 50 W wireless phone charging. Level‑2 driver‑assistance functions, a 64‑colour ambient lighting system, eco‑leather upholstery, recycled materials and 33 storage compartments are also highlighted, aiming to blend sustainability with a high‑tech feel.

Both updates illustrate GWM’s strategy to boost product appeal in China and position its electric models for broader export, particularly to European markets.
