Greater Amman Municipality inspects rainwater drainage projects

Ahmed Al-Malakawi, Chairman of the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) committee, inspected several rainwater drainage infrastructure projects across various districts in Amman. Accompanied by City Manager Nabil Al-Jariri, the inspection covered the construction of box culverts in several locations, including Bayat Al-Radwan Street in the Tariq area, Wadi Al-Tay in Khrebet Al-Souq, Al-Salam Street in Marj Al-Hamam and Na'ur, Taris Street in West Amman, and Princess Tharwat Street in Wadi Al-Seer.

These projects are part of a comprehensive plan to enhance the city's drainage network, improve public safety, and address chronic flooding hotspots identified during previous rainy seasons. The municipality has previously issued eight tenders for the installation of box and pipe culverts at a total cost of approximately 10 million dinars to increase the system's capacity ahead of the winter season.
