Greater Noida police arrest five-member fake gold gang
Greater Noida police have dismantled a gang involved in defrauding citizens by using fake gold to lure victims into surrendering real jewelry and cash. Five individuals, including four men and one woman, were arrested by the Bisrakh police.
The suspects have been identified as Kishore Rai, Vishal Rai, Sanju Rai, Seva Ram Rai, and Meena. Authorities recovered a significant amount of counterfeit items, including 5.224 kg of yellow metal bead clusters and 3.338 kg of yellow metal coins. Additionally, police seized 300,000 rupees in cash, several mobile phones, and an illegal knife.
The investigation began following a report of a theft at the Fusion Homes Society market, where a woman was deceived after suspects posed as individuals in need of help. The gang used the appearance of gold jewelry to gain the victim's trust before fleeing with her belongings.
