Greece activates 2026 Farmer Card via QR code

The Farmer Card for 2026 has been activated for producers who have finalized their Single Application for Support (EAE). This digital activation process utilizes a QR code generated through the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) application.

The QR code serves as a digital identity for banks, providing essential data including the producer's Tax Identification Number (AFM), full name, IBAN for subsidy payments, and the value of held or transferring support rights. Based on this information, credit institutions can evaluate and approve financing requests. This funding can cover up to 80% of the basic or total subsidies owed to the producer.

Unlike a direct subsidy, the card acts as bank financing intended to cover production costs during the growing season, such as fertilizers, animal feed, pesticides, fuel, and irrigation fees. Notably, once a financing contract is signed, the designated IBAN becomes ‘irrevocable’ and locked until the financing is fully repaid.
