Greece allocates €150 million to boost agri‑food sector under Development Law

The Greek Ministry of Development announced the launch of the second round of the "Agrofood – Primary Production and Processing of Agricultural Products – Fisheries – Aquaculture" scheme, funded under the Development Law. The program provides a total of €150 million, split equally between €75 million in direct grants and leasing subsidies and €75 million in tax exemptions for eligible enterprises.

The funding covers investments in primary agricultural production, processing of agricultural products, fisheries and aquaculture, and includes all poultry farms. Additional support is earmarked for businesses established by young farmers. Eligible costs include modern machinery, equipment, technology transfer, quality‑assurance systems, certification and the wage costs of new jobs. New eligibility criteria also favour organic production and products meeting recognised standards. Applications for project proposals must be submitted electronically between 3 August 2026 and 30 November 2026. The initiative is overseen by Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos.
