Greece allocates over €148 million for regional development, tourism and disaster recovery

The Greek government, through Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Nikos Papathanasiou, announced three separate funding packages.

A €1.5 million allocation from national resources will complete the Vasiliki tourist‑boat anchorage project on Lefkada, covering the transport of floating piers, site‑work and final commissioning.

A €140 million programme will support businesses in the Northern Development Regions, especially Western Macedonia and parts of the Peloponnese, offering grants of 50‑70% for SMEs and larger firms to modernise technology, improve competitiveness and invest in renewable‑energy assets.

An additional €7.05 million will be provided to the North Aegean Region for restoring infrastructure damaged by natural disasters, including repairs to water‑supply networks, roads, schools and historic churches on islands such as Chios, Lesbos, Samos and Lemnos.
