Greece announces new school inclusion classes and extended apprenticeship deadlines

The Greek Ministry of Education has initiated the process for establishing new inclusion classes in primary and secondary schools across the country. Regional Education Directorates are required to submit their proposals by September 25, 2026. These classes are designed to support students with special educational needs or disabilities, allowing them to participate in general education environments with specialized support. The process relies on recommendations from local KEDASY centers and follows existing special education legislation.

Separately, DYPA has extended the application deadline for paid apprenticeships in the tourism and hospitality sectors until October 18 for the 2026-27 school year. The program offers training in three high-demand specialties: hotel reception, culinary arts, and catering. The dual education system combines theoretical learning with practical experience in 4-star and 5-star hotels across seven cities, including Athens, Thessaloniki, and Rhodes. Eligible applicants aged 18 and older receive a stipend of 95% of the minimum wage, along with housing and meal allowances.
