The Greek Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports has announced a significant expansion of the Post-Secondary Year Apprenticeship Program for the 2026-2027 academic year. The number of available apprenticeship positions has increased by 12%, rising to 15,762 compared to 14,116 in the previous period. Approximately 72.4% of these positions are provided by the private sector.

Interest among graduates has also grown, with 10,687 applications submitted, marking a 10% increase from the previous period. Additionally, 1,901 educators have signed up for supervisor roles, a 12% rise. The program currently involves 291 vocational schools (EPAL/P.EPAL).

Deputy Minister Konstantinos Vlasis added that the growth demonstrates a successful connection between vocational training and the actual needs of the labor market.
