Greece arrests four for public noise violations in Ilia and Achaia
Early on 19 July 2026, police in Greece’s western regions of Ilia and Achaia arrested four individuals – three men and one woman – for disturbing public peace and breaching health regulations governing music volume.
In Ilia, two men acting as temporary shop managers in Amaliada and Krestena operated outdoor loudspeakers, causing noise complaints; one case also exceeded the permitted operating hours. In Achaia, a woman in Aigio organized an orchestral event that disturbed residents, while a shop owner in Akrita was found to have music levels above the legal limit. Legal files have been opened and will be forwarded to the prosecutorial authorities.
