Greece completes ‘Greece 2.0’ recovery program cycle
Greece has officially concluded its five-year cycle under the Recovery and Resilience Facility through the submission of its ninth and final payment request. The national plan, known as ‘Greece 2.0’, involved a total of approximately 36 billion euros, representing about 16% of the country's GDP.
The program focused on several key pillars: the green transition through renewable energy and energy upgrades, digital transformation including 5G development and the digitalization of public services, employment and social cohesion, and the promotion of private investment. The government highlighted the successful achievement of 376 milestones and targets.
By completing these requirements, Greece is set to receive its full allocation of 35.95 billion euros, which constitutes the highest proportional amount relative to GDP among the 27 EU member states. Officials noted that the program served as a tool for structural reforms in public administration and the national productive model.
