Greece has officially concluded its five-year implementation cycle of the €36 billion ‘Greece 2.0’ national plan under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF). Building on this momentum, Minister of National Economy and Finance Kyriakos Pierrakakis unveiled ‘Invest Ahead,’ a strategic roadmap for the next decade. The plan identifies 30 investment opportunities, such as island desalination and luxury yacht shipyards, aiming to attract up to €20 billion in new capital. The initiative seeks to increase investment-to-GDP levels from 17.7% to match Mediterranean peers like Spain and Italy, which average around 22%.

Regarding domestic policy, Pierrakakis noted that discussions on heating oil subsidies will occur in October to address cost-of-living concerns. He also proposed that all party economic programs be submitted to the Greek Fiscal Council for objective cost assessment to ensure fiscal transparency.
