Greece delivers second batch of military aid to Lebanon

The Lebanese Armed Forces have received a second shipment of military equipment donated by the Greek government. The delivery took place at the Port of Beirut on August 29, 2026, via the Greek vessel “RODOS”.

The aid package consists of 13 M113 armored personnel carriers and 10 STEYR 680 M general-purpose vehicles. This follows an initial delivery of similar equipment on January 16, 2026.

This military assistance was initiated following an official request from Lebanese President Joseph Aoun to Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. The transfer of the M113 vehicles was approved by the Greek Parliament's Special Standing Committee on Armament Programs and Contracts in June 2025. Beyond hardware, the two nations are working to expand military training cooperation, including naval training for Lebanese officers.
