Greece distributes 12 million euros in aid for 81,000 newborns
The Greek Ministry of National Economy and Finance, in collaboration with the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), has completed a supplementary payment of emergency financial aid for families with dependent children. The measure provides a one-time payment of 150 euros per child for those born between January 1, 2025, and July 31, 2026.
A total of 11,935,500 euros was distributed to 73,542 beneficiaries, covering 81,188 dependent children. This specific installment includes 11,334 beneficiaries (representing 21,044 children) who previously failed to receive funds due to missing or incorrect IBAN details. After updating their information with the AADE, these funds were processed.
Payments are expected to appear in recipients' IBAN accounts gradually throughout the day. Eligibility was determined based on timely income tax returns and updates within the Tax Registry. However, authorities noted that 23,676 tax identification numbers (AFM) still lack a valid IBAN on file.
