Greece Sets Final June 30 Deadline for Elevator Registration, Fines Up to €5,000
The deadline for completing the mandatory registration of elevators in Greece expires on 30 June. No further extension is permitted; the original deadline of 30 November was already extended once to the end of June. To date, approximately 286,000 of the estimated 310,000 elevators have been registered via the online platform (elevator.mindev.gov.gr) using Taxisnet credentials.
Registration is required for elevators in residential blocks, office buildings, hotels, commercial premises and mixed‑use facilities, even if the units have already been certified elsewhere. After 30 June, administrative fines will be imposed for each unregistered elevator: €1,000 for residential buildings, €500 for commercial or mixed‑use buildings, and €5,000 for buildings open to the public. Unregistered elevators will not be allowed to receive legal maintenance. The Independent Market Oversight Authority will begin intensive inspections to enforce compliance after the deadline.
