DYPA expands vocational apprenticeship network with four new branches

The Greek Public Employment Service (DYPA) is expanding its network of Vocational Apprenticeship Schools (EPAS) with the establishment of four new branches starting from the 2026-2027 school year. These branches will be located in Kryoneri (Attica), Stratoni (Chalkidiki), Sindos (Thessaloniki), and Karpenisi.

Labor Minister Niki Kerameus stated that the initiative aims to bridge the gap between labor supply and demand by providing specialized training that meets current market needs. The new branches will focus on specific sectors: industrial automation in Kryoneri (at the DEMO ABEE facilities), heavy machinery operation in Stratoni (in cooperation with Ellinikos Chrysos), horticulture and landscape architecture in Sindos, and hospitality in Karpenisi.

By the 2026-2027 academic year, there will be a total of 50 apprenticeship schools across Greece offering 41 different specialties. The model combines theoretical and laboratory instruction with paid, insured apprenticeships within participating businesses to ensure graduates possess the practical skills required by the modern economy.
