Greece expands relocation subsidies and receives positive OECD justice report

Greece is expanding its demographic support measures, including a 10,000 euro relocation subsidy to remote islands in the third phase of the program. Minister Domna Michailidou reported that the second phase has seen high interest, with 1,400 applications submitted within the first 48 hours from regions such as Serres, Kastoria, and Kilkis, as well as from Greeks living abroad.

This initiative is part of a broader framework including the ‘Spiti Mou 3’ housing program, which aims to support 15,000 to 20,000 households with loans up to 230,000 euros. The housing program, managed via the Hellenic Development Bank, is expected to target citizens aged 25 to 55 with higher income thresholds.

Separately, a new OECD report, ‘Justice as a Public Service: Delivering Better Outcomes (2026)’, highlights Greece’s strong performance in citizen perception of judicial fairness and access to personalized legal support. Greece, alongside Lithuania and Poland, was noted for high rates of substantive problem resolution and positive experiences regarding the fairness of legal processes.
