Greece extends deadline for fishing vessel investment program

The Greek Ministry of Rural Development and Food has announced an extension for the submission of funding applications for the ‘Fisheries, Aquaculture and Sea 2021-2027’ program. The new deadline is Friday, October 16, 2026, at 15:00.

This extension applies to Action 1.1.2, which focuses on investments in fishing vessels that do not increase fishing capacity. The program has a total public expenditure of 16 million euros and aims to modernize the Greek fishing fleet, improve working conditions and safety, and enhance the sustainability and competitiveness of the sector.

Emphasis is placed on small-scale coastal fisheries, remote Greek islands, and local communities dependent on fishing. Public funding can cover up to 85% of costs, with individual investment proposals ranging from 5,000 to 500,000 euros. Eligible investments include improvements to safety, health, hygiene, and the procurement of cooling and other specialized equipment.
