Greece faces delays in agricultural subsidy payments

Technical malfunctions in matching data between the Hellenic Agricultural Insurance Organization (OADE) and the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) are threatening the timely distribution of agricultural subsidies in Greece.

Despite government assurances that resolving these issues is a ‘top priority,’ the delays have caused significant concern. The AADE had previously set deadlines of October 31 and November 30 for advance payments, depending on when applications were submitted or modified.

These administrative hurdles come at a sensitive time, as farmers are preparing for potential mobilizations in November. While Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis previously addressed concerns regarding production costs and tax-free agricultural fuel, the systemic issues with OADE continue to delay the actual disbursement of funds.
