Greece Home Renovation Program deadline for eligibility certificates expires today
The deadline for issuing eligibility certificates for the ‘Home Renovation’ program expires today, Wednesday, September 30, 2026. The initiative provides significant state subsidies for renovation works, covering between 70% and 95% of costs depending on the property and household characteristics.
More than 93,000 eligibility applications have been submitted via the electronic platform. Of these, approximately 80,000 concern primary residences, while over 13,000 pertain to unused or closed properties. The Ministry of Finance expects all applications for closed properties submitted since at least 2024 to be approved. For primary residences, funding priority will be determined based on income criteria.
Subsidies can reach up to €36,000 for a 120 square meter home, with a maximum of €300 per square meter. The program includes specific provisions for larger homes, increasing the surface limit to 150 square meters for large families. Additionally, properties in mountainous and island regions are eligible for a 5% subsidy increase, and extra support is planned for vulnerable social groups.
