Greece home renovation program sees 91,000 eligibility approvals
The Greek home renovation program has seen significant demand, with over 91,000 applicants having already secured eligibility certificates. The application process remains open until September 30 following an extension.
Of these applicants, approximately 80,000 involve occupied homes, while more than 11,200 involve properties that were not used as primary residences in 2024 and 2025. Due to high demand, authorities are considering the allocation of additional funds or the creation of a similar subsequent program.
Beneficiaries who have received eligibility certificates are expected to submit final applications in October to secure funding. The program targets homes with building permits issued up to the end of 1990. Subsidies cover between 70% and 95% of costs, with maximum aid amounts of €36,000, increasing to €46,000 for families with two children. The cost ceiling is set at €300 per square meter, with area limits of 120 square meters for standard applicants and 150 square meters for large families.
