Greece hosts animal adoption events for World Animal Day

Various organizations in Greece are organizing events to promote animal adoption and responsible pet ownership in observance of World Animal Day on Saturday, October 3.

In Nea Erythraia, Mars and AB Vassilopoulos, in collaboration with Dogs’ Voice, are hosting an event at the AB Vassilopoulos store on the Athens-Lamia National Road. The initiative supports the Megara Animal Lovers Association and features animals rescued from summer wildfires. The event includes educational activities for children and support from the Ministry of Interior’s Special Secretariat for the Protection of Companion Animals.

Simultaneously, the Municipality of Kifissia, in partnership with the Attica Region and Pet Mou, is hosting the second annual “A Day with My Pet” celebration at Kifissia Grove. The event aims to connect residents with stray animals from the municipality and provides information on the Urban Wildlife Office and the new Amarousiou–Kifissia Intermunicipal Veterinary Clinic, which is scheduled to open on October 1.
