Greece hosts twelve cultural productions at archaeological sites

The Greek Ministry of Culture is hosting the eighth week of its ‘All Greece One Culture 2026’ initiative, featuring twelve original productions across various archaeological sites, monuments, and museums from August 17 to August 23.

The program includes music, theater, dance, and visual arts performances inspired by the theme from Menander’s ‘Dyskolos’: ‘How beautiful a man is when he is truly a man’. Key venues for these events include the Acropolis of Rhodes, the Holy Monastery of Arkadi in Rethymno, the Isachané Cultural Center in Thessaloniki, the archaeological site of Lerna, the Twin Ottoman Baths in Trikala, the Ancient Theater of Elis, the Palace of Phaistos, the Archaeological Museum of Mesara, the Mycenaean Acropolis of Tiryns, Ioannina Castle, the Archaeological Museum of Karditsa, the Castle of Agios Georgios in Argostoli, and Fortezza in Rethymno.

Specific scheduled performances include the dance piece ‘Dragon – Hymn of Decay’ at the Acropolis of Rhodes on August 17 and 18, and the musical performance ‘Anthropo-leipsos’ at the Holy Monastery of Arkadi on August 18 and 19. All events are offered free of charge by the Ministry of Culture, though reservations are required through the official institutional website.
