Greece: e-EFKA introduces electronic retirement applications for public employees

The e-EFKA organization has launched a new digital process for public sector employees to submit retirement applications electronically, replacing the previous handwritten method. This transition aims to reduce bureaucracy, improve service interconnection, and accelerate the issuance of pensions.

The rollout is occurring in two phases. Starting November 2, the electronic system is available for retirement applications due to old age, including cases of resignation, reaching age limits, physical incapacity, or military service completion. On November 9, the system will expand to include applications for survivor pensions due to the death of an insured employee.

The new process covers main and supplementary pensions, lump-sum benefits, and benefits from the Civil Servants' Mutual Fund (MTYP). To finalize an application, the employment relationship must first be officially terminated. Users can access the service via the official e-EFKA website using their TAXISnet credentials by navigating through the electronic services section for public employees.
