Greek government rolls out expanded tourism voucher schemes for 2026

The Greek ministries of Economy, Finance, Interior, Tourism, Digital Governance and Climate Crisis have announced two complementary voucher programmes aimed at boosting domestic travel in 2026.

The "Thessaly Pass 2026" will issue 200‑euro digital debit‑card vouchers to adult Greek taxpayers residing in the municipalities of Zagora‑Mouresi, South Pelion and Volos. The scheme, which has no income thresholds, will run in two phases (September‑October and November‑December 2026) and the vouchers can be used for local transport, catering and accommodation. Applications will be submitted through vouchers.gov.gr or at citizen service centres (KEP).

Separately, the "Tourism for All 2026‑2027" programme widens eligibility and raises the voucher value to between 200 and 600 euros, depending on the beneficiary category. Income limits have been increased, with an extra €5,000 added for each child beyond the seventh in large families, and a €50 bonus per child from the fourth onward. Special provisions remove income criteria for persons with a disability rate above 67 % and for families with children with disabilities. The vouchers, also delivered via a digital card, are intended for accommodation services and are targeted at low‑season travel from October to April to support lesser‑known mountain and island destinations. Applications will be processed online via gov.gr and vouchers.gov.gr, with a random electronic draw to select recipients.
