Greece launches 2026 cultural programme with festivals in Nafplio and Mesolongi
The Progressive Association of Nafplio, together with the municipal authorities, will host the Cultural Nauspliada 2026 festival from 15 to 23 August. Events include piano performances by Theodoros Antoniadis, a literary evening in Kolokotronis Park, children's storytelling, a screening of the international documentary "Ocean with David Attenborough", naval competitions, concerts by local musicians, an astronomy session by the Amateur Astronomy Society of Argolis and traditional folk dances.
In the Western Greece region, the regional government will present a free open‑air performance of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s comedy "Οι Συνένοχοι" (The Co‑conspirators) on 22 July at the Mesolongi Port Open‑Air Theatre. The production features a Greek translation by Konstantinos Kyriakou, music by Kostas Bigalis and a cast including Ts. Theodoridis, S. Eskenazi, A. Mustaka and T. Zaharakis, and is part of the same 2026 cultural initiative aimed at expanding artistic access across the country.
