Greece launches 2026 summer sales on July 13
Greek retail stores will begin the 2026 summer sales on Monday, 13 July, continuing through 31 August. The first Sunday of the sales period, 19 July, may be opened voluntarily from 11:00 to 18:00.
Under current regulations, merchants must display both the original and reduced price for clothing and footwear. The “original price” is the lowest price recorded in the preceding 30 days (or 10 days for newly released items). Percentage discounts are optional, but if used they must be clearly identified as a discount. When more than 60 % of a store’s stock is on sale, the discount percentage must be shown in the window. Outlets and stock‑type stores must remove the old price and show only the new sale price.
Consumers are advised to keep receipts and can request information on product quality and origin, as well as the right to return defective items unless the defect was disclosed beforehand.
