Greece launches 46 joint master programmes with elite foreign universities and expands IB school sections

The Greek Ministry of Education announced that 46 joint and dual master's programmes will start in the 2026‑27 academic year, linking Greek universities with top international institutions such as Yale, Harvard and Columbia. The initiative is funded with €67 million from the national Recovery Fund and was presented by Education Minister Sophia Zaharakis, who said it will internationalise higher education and improve research capacity.

Separately, the ministry opened the application window (19‑24 June 2026) for International Baccalaureate (IB) sections in selected standard and experimental lyceums for the 2026‑27 school year. Schools including the Agion Anargiron, Evangelical School of Smyrna and others will host IB programmes.
