Greece launches €70 smartphone subsidy for people with severe disabilities
The Greek government will introduce a new voucher scheme that provides up to €70 off the purchase of a smartphone. The discount is applied directly at the point of sale, with the voucher amount deducted automatically when the device is bought through official mobile network operators and participating retailers.
Eligibility is limited to individuals whose disability rating exceeds 67%, aiming to reduce digital exclusion and ensure equal access to e‑government services, digital transactions and public applications. The application process will be fully digital, using existing public registries to verify eligibility instantly and eliminate paperwork, queues and delays.
