Greece launches 'PosoKanei' AI-driven price‑monitoring platform for consumers
The Greek Ministry of Development is preparing to roll out a new digital platform called PosoKanei, aimed at increasing market transparency and tackling price gouging. The system will use artificial‑intelligence tools and real‑time data from up to 10,000 top‑selling SKUs supplied by market‑research firm Circana Hellas under a contract worth roughly €11,500.
PosoKanei will feed price information to the Independent Authority for Market Control and Consumer Protection, enabling rapid detection of unfair commercial practices, automated inspections and fine imposition. The initiative is part of a broader €4.6 million funding programme to strengthen the Authority’s digital capabilities and align Greece’s market oversight with that of advanced EU economies.
