Greece launches posokanei.gov.gr price‑comparison platform for supermarket products

The Greek government has launched the posokanei.gov.gr platform, a price‑comparison service for consumer goods sold in supermarkets. The service is accessible through a website and mobile apps for Android and iOS, and the first release includes about 10,000 product codes.

Price data are gathered directly from chains such as Galaxias, SYNK, Masoutis, AB Vasilopoulos, Market In and Lidl, while automated crawling supplies information from Sklavenitis, Chalkiadakis, My Market and Kritikos. Prices are refreshed daily. Users can search by product name or barcode, scan items with their phones, view historical price trends and create up to five shopping lists of up to 50 items each. The platform also shows comparable prices from selected European retailers in Italy, France, Belgium, Romania, Bulgaria, Cyprus and Spain, and allows users to suggest additional foreign stores for inclusion.
