Greece launches smartphone voucher scheme for disabled citizens
The Greek government has introduced a subsidy programme that provides vouchers covering up to €70 of the purchase price of a smartphone meeting specific technical specifications. The aid targets citizens with a disability rating above 67% who face digital exclusion, aiming to broaden access to electronic transactions, public services and communication tools.
Eligibility will be verified through public registries and the vouchers will be applied at the point of sale by participating mobile‑network operators and retailers. The initiative forms part of Greece’s broader digital‑accessibility strategy to lessen the digital divide for vulnerable groups.
