Greece Minister of Education issues message for October 28th anniversary

Greece's Minister of Education, Religious Affairs, and Sports, Sofia Zacharaki, has released a message to students and educators regarding the national anniversary of October 28th. She emphasized the historical significance of the 'Oxi' (No), which represented the Greek people's refusal to surrender sovereignty to fascist Italy in 1940.

Zacharaki highlighted that while the historical event honored the defense of freedom and independence, the spirit of the 'Oxi' must be applied to modern challenges. She called on the new generation to resist contemporary forms of violence, racism, fanaticism, bullying, and misinformation. The Minister underscored the role of schools in fostering critical thinking, democratic values, and respect for human dignity.
